Join us for Military Appreciation Days in Myrtle Beach during the month of May!  We’re celebrating military men and women – active duty, reserves and National Guard – and veterans from every service branch.  Look for military discounts, along with concerts, fireworks, celebrities, special events and family activities, plus the big parade on Saturday, May 25.

  • Hot Summer Nights on Ocean Boulevard  Enjoy free activities and entertainers in downtown Myrtle Beach and on the Oceanfront Boardwalk(www.myrtlebeachdowntown.com).
  • 5K Run/Walk  Sign up now for this 5K Run on Ocean Boulevard and the Boardwalk!  The race begins at 7:30 a.m., Saturday, May 25, at Plyler Park.  It’s free for active duty, reserves and veterans, or $20 for civilians. Visitwww.militaryappreciationdays.com for details.
  • Memorial Day Parade  This big Ocean Boulevard Memorial Day Paradesteps off at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 25.  Army Veteran and former Pittsburgh Steelers’ running back Rocky Bleier will serve as Grand Marshal of this year’s parade. The parade begins at 27th Avenue North and travels south to Ninth Avenue North, with great views all along the route!  Want to be in the parade?  Sign up at www.militaryappreciationdays.com.
  • Family picnic, meet Rocky, military exhibits and more  After the parade, join us for a Picnic on the Pavilion Site, complete with activities for the kids, military exhibits, music and more.  Headlining the afternoon is the Andrew Thielen Big Bandwith an outstanding patriotic show.  Parade Grand Marshal Rocky Bleier will be there, too!  Activities are set for Saturday, May 25, on Ocean Boulevard, Eighth to Ninth Avenue North.
  • Memorial Day Ceremony  Join the Grand Strand Patriotic Alliance and City of Myrtle Beach for the Memorial Day Ceremony at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 27, on the Convention Center Plaza.

Plan to spend the day downtown following the big Memorial Day parade!  Activities continue for Military Appreciation Days, including the kick-off for the 60thAnnual Sun Fun Festival.  Remember the 5K Run on Sunday morning, too!
